“Walking Meditation” by Thich Nhat Hanh
Take my hand. We will walk. We will only walk. We will enjoy our walk without thinking of arriving anywhere. Walk peacefully. Walk happily. Our walk is a peace walk. Our walk is a happiness walk. Then we learn that there is no peace walk; that peace is the walk; that there is no happiness walk; that happiness is the walk. We walk for outselves. We walk for everyone always hand in hand. Walk and touch peace every moment. Walk and touch happiness every moment. Each step brings a fresh breeze. Each step makes a flower bloom under our feet. Kiss the Earth with your feet. Print on Earth your love and happiness. Earth will be safe when we feel in us enough safety.
Upcoming No Kings rallies on October 18th
In many areas, there are ongoing protests, which are still essential. However, if your time is limited, consider trying to at least attend an Upcoming No Kings rally on October 18th.
K. Starling’s newsletter, We the People Dissent, is still an outstanding resource on ways to get involved in this and future in-person events.
Here are some helpful resources:

If you are interested in volunteering as a Peacekeeper, you can read about my experience as a Peacekeeper at the last No Kings in this Spring Rain post.
Reach out to your local Indivisible group or other organizing group now to get involved, as planning and training for events is already underway.
These organizations may also be helpful in finding protest locations:
Supporting Prop 50 in California
Ballots for the upcoming special election will be arriving in the mail to California homes any day now, with Proposition 50, the Election Rigging Response Act, of key interest. Here is an FAQ on Prop 50.
If you are a resident of California and able to vote, please keep an eye out for your ballot in the mail and vote in a timely manner to make sure your voice is heard.
If you want to further support the Prop 50 measure, or if you are not a resident of California, here are some more ways to be involved:

Resistbot Emails to Representatives
Resistbot is a tool to quickly send emails to your representatives. Click the link to learn how to set up your account. Emails are much less effective than calling (I have seen some estimate that a call is worth 10 emails), but with Resistbot templates it is so fast it is worth doing in addition to calling.
Note: Resistbot is now limiting free emails to 5 per day. You can send more by buying coins or inviting new users.
I often will be able to send these emails while I make calls using The 5 Calls App.
To make sending Resistbot codes even easier, I have started to follow my favorite writers, so when they post a new campaign, it comes directly to me. I can then read and send it without going out of my way.
Currently I recommend following these writers; click their names to see their most recent campaigns:
Text “Follow coleman” to 50409 if new, or wherever you use Resistbot if already established.
Almost daily posting, usually very popular campaigns.
Jess Craven from Chop Wood, Carry Water.
Text “Follow jesscraven101” to 50409 if new, or wherever you use Resistbot if already established.
Occasional posting, but well written.
If you are looking for more frequent updates on unique actions to take, or for phone scripts different from the 5 Calls App, you may want to consider Chop Wood, Carry Water or Rogan's List .
I am grateful you are here.
Thank you,
Chris
